Ash Wednesday

As a family we decided to participate in the "HUNGER CHALLENGE" with Kate's confirmation class. The kids were given the option of purchasing the Meal that we packaged, eating it for dinner after they had fasted all day to remind them of the sacrifice that God has given up for us. Doug, Kate and I all prayed about it and during the day, said verses to keep us strong (even though our tummies were growling -- but such a great reflection on how easily we take for granted the plentiful amount of food that we have available for us) We ate our meal, and then attended Ash Wednesday services together that evening..."Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return".

This was our biggest snow fall for the Winter season, and I love that the kids still want to go outside and play! It was a beautiful afternoon in the backyard of sunshine and mild temps.

After the holidays

This was in the paper the following Monday after all of our holiday family celebrations were complete for the year. So true......but feeling very blessed and loved for all of the joy that was shared this Christmas season. Happy New Year 2015!!!!

Suhr Christmas/New Years weekend

We were able to kick off the New Year in Pender celebrating Christmas with the Suhr's. It was a great weekend. Nothing better than family, good food/drinks and laughter shared together! Mom and Dad, thanks for hosting all of us....and Doug, I have no idea how you managed to avoid all of the pictures this year (-;
