First Day of school

Kate in front of school - our first day in 1st grade was wonderful! She woke up at 0615, saying that she was just too excited to sleep anymore. A quick hug and then she was off. She told me that she did not even need me to walk her in the room, but I talked her into it. (-: When Ben and I picked her up at 3 o'clock, she looked exhausted, but was SO excited to tell us about her day. It sounded like she had a great time! I am going to miss her smiling little face all day......I asked Ben if he was missing sissy at lunch and he answered with a prompt "NO" - oh, the wonderful love shared between a brother and sister.

Colorado Vacation - August

Ben loved feeding the chipmunks at St. Elmo. We had a picnic, threw rocks, & raced sticks in a stream. It was great spending time with the Craig's. The photo of the tractor was at the Iowa State Fair. Not quite where I wanted it in the layout, but oh well!!! I am new to this blogging stuff.

A little closer version of the ribbons - Kate was so excited and I think that I was mainly surprised - truly a memory that we will remember forever!

I was so proud of Kate talking to the MC. She was just chatting about her age and that she loves the fair.

hi my name is kate and this is my moms blog.

Thanks for the opening Sissy. Hi there everyone! The Cairney family has officially entered the modern computer age of blogging.....after much persuasion from friends (not to mention any names Kristin (-: ), we are now bloggers. Welcome to our site. I will try and update as much as possible. This summer our days were occupied with softball, swimming, countless games of baseball and catch in our backyard, quality times with friends and family, and just enjoying the carefree idea of summer. We hope that you are all doing well!

Here we are at a park in Indianola in June. We were getting some Cairney family photos taken and I snapped this cheesy photo of Kate and Ben. The pictures went great and we had a great time celebrating Papa and Grandma's 45th wedding anniversary.
